Archiving

KRONOS DRIVE displays the file count and total size of each bucket. File counts and total sizes are also available per folder, so you can easily see where your files are and how much space they take.

KRONOS DRIVE supports searching by file name and folder name, so you can reach the object you need in no time. Tagging and packaging features also make it easy to find related files.

Presigned URLs

Beyond downloading directly from KRONOS DRIVE, you can issue presigned URLs for files and share them with people who don't have access to KRONOS DRIVE. URLs can be given an expiration date, so security is never a worry.

Secure, high-speed transfer of large volumes of data

Aspera upload

In addition to common protocols such as FTP and HTTP, uploads via Aspera are supported. Using the dedicated Aspera client, high-speed transfers of 300 Mbps as standard and up to 1 Gbps are supported.

Powerful preview features

A preview is automatically generated for every video file uploaded to KRONOS DRIVE. Preview videos are generated in a format optimized for browser playback over the internet, so they are never at the mercy of connection quality or browser compatibility. Fine-grained controls such as frame-by-frame stepping forward and backward are available, and timecode can be displayed — you can even seek to a specific timecode.
The analysis feature can generate previews from any combination of multiple audio channels, so previewing secondary audio in KRONOS DRIVE is easy too.

File analysis

When you upload a video file to KRONOS DRIVE, its codec, bitrate, frame rate, audio channel count, loudness values, and more are analyzed automatically. The results can be viewed at any time from the KRONOS DRIVE console.

File creation

Simple text files can be created and saved directly in KRONOS DRIVE. You can also create and edit XML files in the broadcast material metadata format defined by ARIB TR-B31 (program exchange metadata), with a dedicated GUI for viewing and editing. Program exchange metadata you create can be associated with video files, aiding editing features and package management.

File associations

Managing video often means managing many related files — caption files, thumbnails, and more. KRONOS DRIVE lets you associate other files with a video file and manage them together. Associate a caption file with a video, for example, and you can preview the video with its captions. Or associate a program exchange metadata file as defined by ARIB TR-B31 and use it as timeline information when editing the video.
